If you suffer from diabetes and develop foot problems, you are entitled to NHS treatment via GP referral to the Chiropody Department at Foster Street in Maidstone. However, there is usually a very long wait for a first appointment.
Alternatively, if you are willing to pay a charge, you can be seen at the surgery by a qualified chiropodist, Paul Simmons, MSSCh, MBChA, HPCReg. As well as treating diabetic associated conditions, Paul can treat other foot problems, such as in-growing toe nails, bunion pains, corns, hard skin, varruca / warts. He works at the surgery on Monday afternoon and some Friday afternoons and there is a small charge surfor a 20 minute consultation. You can make an appointment be telephoning the surgery.
